| This is a top golfing destination,
its golf courses playing host to some of the world's
most important tournaments. Designed by Donald Steel,
Vila Sol's own course has excellent fairways and fast,
undulating greens. These comprise of three 9-hole loops
of distinctly differing character: the aptly named Prime,
Challenge and Prestige. There are five further 18-hole
championship courses nearby: the Laguna course, a combination
of heath land, lakes and marsh areas near the ocean;
Pinhal, a mixture of pine-lined holes and open, rolling
terrain; The Old Course, which runs on undulating sandy land with umbrella pines; the Millennium which offers challenges combined with a very distinctive character; and the prestigious Victoria designed by Arnold Palmer. |
